Omicron/COVID Care and Yoga - Yoga with Dr. Srinivas (Online sessions- Jan'22)

Starting first week of the year 2022,  Omicron ( A variant of COVID-19)  virus and Corona virus, started spreading at a faster and larger rates than earlier estimated, forcing the  governments  across the globe, to act with semi lock downs/ curfews along with  mandating vaccination to enter public places, to contain the spread. Governments also responded with urgent medical preapredness  in terms of  preparing extra hospital beds, Oxygen cylnders  and more number of trained medical staff ,along with increased quarantine periods. And yes, our lives on the path of slow recovery to normalcy, to pre 2020 times , needed to be disturbed again atleast for a while, for  now, to take care of the  most precious thing on this planet -" OUR HEALTH ", even at the cost of continuing huge economic impact to individuals and businesses. While vaccines are reducing the risk levels caused by virus exposure from being fatal, a healthy immune system of the individual is the key to quick recovery. Hence it is our  individual responsibility  to continously boost our immunity levels , both on   physical and psychological planes, for combating this deadly pandemic.

Given that  Yoga based routines  successfully worked as adjunctive care to treat mild symptoms / preventive care  of Corona virus in the year 2020 and 2021, United nations added Yoga and meditation in the wellness tips to its employess as COVID19 response. Also, it is in our best interest to include yoga based  practices in our daily health routines, to boost our immunity levels to fight this deadly virus. To increase the awareness as well as to spread the message of Yoga for universal welfareDr. Srinivas condcuted  online Yoga sessions for voluntary participants in January'22 , to combat the  anxiety associated with the virus as well as a preventive measure.

Volunary participants who are in normal health ( and not on any long duration medication) were selected for these online sessions , who are in age group between > 15 years & <55 years. These yoga sessions included sukhma vyayama, standing/ sitting/ supine posture easy to do and relevant asanas along with pranyama techniques, with focus to enhance breath immunity. Online sessions offered were inline with  Yoga practice guidelines for COVID19 by Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India

Dr. Srinivas thanks all the participants for their participation in the series of yoga sessions conducted online. Participant feedback has been positive and encouraging. Dr. Srinivas wishes all the participants and their  families & friends , a good health , peace and strength and wish them  come victoroius in this fight aganist corona virus and its variants.

                                         ॐ सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः ( let all beings be happy)🙏🙏🙏
