Workshop on Work related stress @ Intel India

To celebrate the international   Yoga day  2016,  Dr. Pammi Sesha Srinivas  presented an awareness workshop  session  at Intel India campus, Bengaluru on the topic "Work related stress- Health – Yoga based methods" for  IT Professionals .

Background and brief about the session :-

Across the globe, understanding and managing work related stress is one of the much researched topic in the recent times. The current research also  targets at increasing productivity for  organizations as well as enhancing well-being for the workforce. Work related stress can occur when there exits imbalance between - demands posed by the job and resources and capabilities of the worker to meet those demands( Cooper, 1981). When work related stress is experienced for prolonged times, it negatively effects the health of the worker as well as the productivity of the organizations.  Yoga, being one of the six systems of Indian Philosophy (‘Shaddarshanas’), helps to enhance the physical, cognitive, emotional and spiritual wellbeing  of the individual. By inculcating and enhancing wellbeing , yoga based methods  can  help to reduce/overcome the  negative effects of work related stress for professionals.

It was very eventful workshop with lots of interaction between the presenter and the participants.  Based on the feedback  expressed by the participants, the session greatly helped the participants.
